One of Nigeria’s leading academic institutions, Grace Schools has announced its partnership with the Canadian institution, Loyalist College, to prepare school-leaving students for onward academic pursuits abroad.
Speaking to newsmen, the Executive Director, Grace Schools, Mrs Tokunbo Edun hinted that the educational institution was partnering with Loyalist College, Canada to alleviate the hardship faced by Nigerian students who intend to study in that country.
“We intend to showcase the capacity of Nigerian schools to deliver top-notch academic services across the globe”, she said.
She noted that Grace Schools was the first Nigerian school to partner with a foreign institution and provide academic programmes in Nigeria.
Mrs Edun also assured parents of quality academic programmes such as digitally-compliant and academically qualified teachers have been recruited to facilitate the programme. She added that some online classes would hold in order for Loyalist College Canada to impart the Loyalist Culture and academic approach into the lives of the students, prior to the completion of their first year when they move to Canada.
Dr Ann Marie Vaughan, College President and CEO of Loyalist College, Canada also expresses the school’s willingness to work with Grace Schools to make Loyalist a destination for Nigerian students to acquire employable life skills that prepare them to succeed in their future careers.
For more than a decade, Loyalist College has supported over 6,000 students to reach their higher education goals.
Jim Whiteway, Director of International Education Loyalist College confirmed the fact Grace Schools is the first school in Nigeria that will establish this kind of partnership with a world-class academic institution, which allows students to take the first academic year in Nigeria before coming down to Canada to complete the course.
“At Loyalist College, you’ll receive individual attention in small classes from Faculty Deans, who can guide you in achieving positive outcomes and acquiring the skills you need to launch and grow your career”, he said.
Registration is now open for qualified candidates into Loyalist College’s Business Diploma programme for May 2022 intake.
Students will begin their studies at Grace Schools in Lagos, Nigeria and complete the second year of the program at Loyalist College in Ontario, Canada.
The students shall be taken through Introduction to Business, Organizational Behaviour, Culturally Inclusive Communication, Business Computer Applications Excel, and Business Mathematics. The programme further engages students in Social Media Emerging Technology, Introduction to Marketing and Professional Development.
The second-semester courses shall include; Introduction to Financial Accounting, Human Recourses Management, Business Computer Applications- Excel, Economics, Professional Development and General Education Elective.
