Friends and family are mourning the passing of Alhaji Lukmon Kayode Danmole, a man whose extraordinary life left a lasting impact on numerous hearts.
Born into the family of Alhaji Buraimo Mobolaji Danmole of blessed memory, who hailed from the popular Danmole Dynasty of the then Victoria Street, now Moshalashi Jimoh in Lagos Island, and his mother, Alhaja Sinatu Ashake Danmole (nee Oshodi) also of blessed memory came from Epetedo area, in Lagos Island.
Alhaja Sinatu Ashake Danmole (nee Oshodi) was one of the very loyal and dedicated members of Egbe Panla (Action Group) during her life time and she was loved by the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo for her loyalty and steadfastness. and the fond memory was shared during the celebration of Alhaji Lukmon’s sister’s birthday, Alhaja Wosifat Tinubu three years ago.
A devout Muslim, Alhaji Danmole‘s religious life was central to his identity. Survived by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
As the firstborn in his family, Alhaji Danmole‘s siblings include Alhaja Wosifat Tinubu (nee Danmole), a notable personality who celebrated her 80th birthday in 2020. In her heartfelt tribute, she expressed gratitude for the close bond she maintained with her brother despite the geographical distance, highlighting their regular phone conversations.
Alhaji Danmole‘s professional journey led him to London, where he dedicated years to various roles, including service in the National Bank. His well-earned retirement came from the London Post Office in the UK.
Alhaji Danmole, a distinguished member of Eko Club, Yoruba Tennis Club, Island Club, and more, was not just a club enthusiast but a lovable brother to notable figures like Alhaja Wosifat Tinubu, Oyinlomo Danmole, former Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture, Professor Hakeem Danmole and Major Kehinde Danmole, among many other family members of Danmoles, & Oshodis.
Today, his sons, notably Sherriff Adio Danmole, along with Tunde Danmole, Tina Danmole, Kofowola Danmole Rasheed Danmole, Gbolahan Danmole, Winnie Danmole, Yinka Danmole and other children numerous to mention in Lagos and London, continue to keep alive the memory of what he stood for. As the family and community reflect on the life of Alhaji Lukmon Omokayode Danmole, his numerous contributions to various spheres of life, both personal and professional, will be remembered with deep appreciation and respect.
