Mata was absent in the picture United posted on twitter with photographs of their players arriving in London ahead of Sunday’s showpiece at Wembley stadium.
However, so much panic was expressed amongst the club’s fanbase, with Mata nowhere to be seen and bemused supporters speculating that he was not going to be selected by Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils have released no official confirmed team news ahead of the meeting with Southampton, aside from Mourinho confirming that Henrikh Mkhitaryan would not play.
The Portuguese also revealed that Michael Carrick is available and that Wayne Rooney, who has been linked with an Old Trafford exit, would be in the matchday squad.
