She Is Gov. ADELEKE’s Sister, DUPE SANNI
Since the emergence of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, one woman who has been significantly relevant is Mrs Dupe Adeleke Sanni. She is the elder sister to the governor and immediate younger sister to Dr. Deji Adeleke, who is the father of music star, Davido. She is a renowned Ibadan society woman because she stays in Ibadan. She is the only sister of the popular Adeleke brothers in Ede, Osun State. Though she is very known in Ibadan but her rise to prominence in Osun was because she is form the the prominent Adeleke family in Ede. She has always been in the news because her brothers are also very popular.
The Yeye Luwa of Edeland has been based in Ibadan all her life and you can not mention society women in Ibadan and not include her name. She wields enormous influence and now she has been dubbed the most powerful woman in Osun State, oh yes, she was a major backbone during her brothers struggles to become Osun Governor. She was at the forefront of major campaigns and Infact we gathered that she was the treasurer of the campaign group. She stood solidly behind her brother and became a major force in Osun State that everybody goes through her before they can get things done as far as Adelekes are concern.
One thing that has worked for the Adelekes, is family closeness and uncommon bond. From Davido’s father, Deji Adeleke who was a great financier to the emergence of his younger brother, Gov. Ademola Adeleke and his support for their late brother, former Osun Governor, Isiaka Adeleke and up till now, their closeness is still cordial. Their only sister, Dupe Adeleke Sanni is also very powerful within the family, she makes everything happen. As powerful as Davido’s father is, there is a very strong woman behind him which is this his sister, Dupe Adeleke Sanni.
Many have applauded Senator Adeleke’s older brother, Dr Adedeji Adeleke, for playing a major role in his emergence as governor of the state.
Dr Adeleke bankrolled his brother’s campaign almost single-handedly. He was the money-bag behind the scene who stood solidly behind Ademola to ensure that he won the election. His son, David Adeleke, aka Davido, also went all out to ensure that his favourite uncle emerged victorious.
Many have also applauded the strong bond that held the Adeleke family together, which enabled them to work toward achieving success at the election. What most people do not know however, is that the bond uniting the family was strengthened over the years by a formidable force within the family. That person is none other than Chief Modupe Adeleke-Sanni.
Although Mrs Adeleke-Sanni is the immediate younger sister of Adedeji Adeleke and older than the governor, she is regarded as the matriarch of the Adeleke family. She is the most-influential woman in the family and a big mother figure in the lives of her brothers and their children. She ensures that everything goes on well in their home fronts and in their businesses. This is what she has replicated in Osun State during the campaign period. She always welcome all and sundry and is very well loved by the people in Osun State, she took it upon herself to bring women together in Osun State, especially Ede where the Adeleke came from to support her brother. She suddenly became the eyes and ears of the governor and Adeleke family at large that you can never by pass her to get to his brothers.
Known as ‘Mrs Fix It All’, she is the backbone of the family and a rallying point for her brothers, nieces and nephews. There is virtually nothing that goes on or around the Adeleke family that she has no knowledge of. Since Senator Adeleke’s political journey began, she has remained a pillar of support for him and was with him every step of the way up till his recent victory. She has also enjoyed many accolades from her brothers and many people from Osun State who never joked with her. The eulogies from her brothers towards her contributions to their successes did also not go unnoticed as she has been praised continually by them and many of her loyalists in Osun State.
The beautiful grandmother whose only daughter lives in the United States is a member of the Governing Council of Adeleke University owned by Davido’s father, Dr Adedeji Adeleke popularly called Baba Olowo. Her roles do not begin and end there. She’s the mother figure in the lives of Baba Olowo’s children. She ensures that everything goes on well in the home front and makes herself available to Baba Olowo for business and domestic matters. Saying she wields enormous influence on her family and the state at large is not overrated as she has been taking care of all her brothers since they lost their mother. She has been involved in the activities of all her siblings for a long time. As the only woman among them, she has played her roles with utmost duty, love and care.
Rather quiet but very determined, Chief (Mrs.) Modupe is the only woman who can’t get it wrong with many of her loyalist. She has often been. As part of her resilience and love for her state and people, she was bestowed with the Yeyeluwa of Edeland. The 64 year old has been described as a woman of valuable substance, a real and rare gem who has contributed immensely and meaningfully to the life of so many people, a woman with a large heart whose kindness to humanities is legendary and second to none. In terms of generousity, Yeye Dupe has been so kind to all and many have drawn from her milk of human kindness. She has been courageous in promoting excellence through sheer handwork and great commitment to the service of humanity, a role model to the old and young ones.
Yeye Dupe Sanni has demonstrated her passion for human development in all ramifications, no wonder people cherished her and celebrate her well-being all the time.
