Production broke the news of the death of her brother, Alhaji Muftau Olalekan Adio Abagun on the 21st of January, 2020, the whole online scattered with sympathetic comments. Why? It is because IY is a nice lady who everyone likes so much. Also, the deceased, late Alhaji Muftau Olalekan Abagun was one man you can say autoritatively lived a good life. There were lots of sweet memories and good testimonies about him by family and friends, even well wisher.

He was called a Super Warrior, a philanthropist and a man who not only love himself but made sure that anyone around him were successful as he was; culling from one of the statement made by one of his close friends. Olalekan Abagun, was the patriarch of the family. He is a record breaker in the family. He is the 1st person in the family history to have ever lived up to 70. He was 72. Let’s tell you more. He was born in Lagos on 7th October, 1948 to a Civil Engineer, late Ibrahim Alabi Abagun. His mum was a businesswoman, a Textile Merchant, Alhaja Sinotu Adunni Abagun. The deceased was an industrialist. he worked as a Manager at his late Uncles factory for several years, Abel Abu Industries Ltd, Manufacturer of children’s underwears. He later established his own company Golden Cowries. “He was gentle, firm, a disciplinarian, liberal, Godfearing, nonfanatical, trustworthy” revealed his sister, Iyabo Abagun. His first marriage was to Miss Oloruntosin Talabi. They had 4 children together-Ifeamade, 3 Boys. His 2nd marriage was to Miss Oluwafunmilayo Olatunji. They were together till the very end of his life. They have 3 kids-2 girls and 1 Boy. His last date was with Hajia Ramota Kalejaiye. They had a child together. Her daughter is 21 years old.
According to the ace broadcaster, Iyabo Abagun, Alhaji Muftau Olalekan Abagun died peacefully at his residence in early hours of Wednesday, the 20th of January, 2021 and his remain was interred in accordance with Muslim rites on the same day. “It is a great loss. I lost my elder brother. My mum’s only son, the patriarch of Abagun’s family.
Meanwhile, the family of Abagun held what we can call a world class 8th day fidau prayer for him in Ikorodu on Wednesday, 27th. And without mincing words you can simply tell the kind of man the deaceased, Alhaji Muftan Olalekan Abagun was in his lifetime.
The whole field of Musical Village in Ikorodu was filled to the brim. The giant tent that was erected couldn’t contain the crowd as there were a huge number of people that couldn’t sit; despite the fact that there were plenty of chairs that were made available by the family, they are more than those seated. The family expected 500 guests.
It was a joyous moment and on well deserved celebration of life for an icon, a man who was loved to the point of death by many.
The 8th day fidau prayer started as planned with all the family members, friends and well wishers already seated. The Muslim clerics were also very much on ground and they commenced the program with prayers.
Members of the Abagun family showed love, in dolling out money for prayers as requested by the Imam.
There were also enough foods and drinks for everyone who graced the event.
Let’s not forget to tell you that it was one of the events you will love to attend even in this season as every rule and guideline as regard Covid-19 were observed, right from the point of entrance. Security guys won’t even allow you to enter into the venue without wearing your facemask properly and you must wash your hand and sanitise it thorougly before going. In setting of the chair, they made sure there was enough distance between you and the next person sitting close to you.
