It was another moment of celebration for parents, teachers, pupils, management and non-teaching staff of Frontliners Schools in Akowonjo and Alakuko areas of Lagos on Tuesday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 2018, 2021 when the school held its 18th graduation ceremony in style. The event was fun-filled and remained indelible in the minds of the graduands as they set another standard for the upcoming pupils.
The event kicked off at noon with soul-lifting praise and worship from the Frontliners staffers followed by the opening prayer led by Pastor Mrs Alamu, the school administrator after which both the national and school anthem was sung, the special guests were called to the high table and introduction of the graduands was announced followed by an address delivered by the Headmaster, Mr Fasakin Benjamin.
The speech reads in parts: At this junction, let’s quickly peep through the important events that were carried out during the 2020/2021 academic year. We are thanking God that he has made our school a focal point in this new normal, in every area great achievement God has given us through the lives of our children. We are indebted to His faithfulness.
Progress Reports- During the term, we recorded a tremendous improvement in our pupils’ overall performance in Lagos Unified Examination (NAPPS).
NAPPS Science Competition: The upper-grade classes also participated in the Lagos State Science competition in the term under review which is an experience our pupils will not forget in a hurry.
Seminars/Workshops: The school has continued in their habit of training the staff. The quality of teaching staff continues to improve by the day with seminars, in house training, academic programs and workshops. We try to make our school outstanding amidst other schools and our children are the best.
Intra Schools Competitions: To the glory of God within the session, our children had been privileged to participate in various inter-school competitions such as: Quiz competition, 2021 Mathematics competition, Current affairs, and spelling B to mention but a few.
I wish also to use this medium to congratulate our ever seasoning and unflagging Educators who have put in their best in educating these young stars, I implore you to continue with your good work. May God reward you immensely.
As part of the Frontliners Schools way of appreciating its outstanding performers among the staff, the hard work of some teaching and non-teaching staffers was recognized publicly and they got handsome rewards. This includes Alakuko Staff awards outstanding staff. Adof E. Afangide. Best dressed. Fasakin Olubunmi Abosede. Most punctual, Abreka Moro Patricia. Outstanding non-teaching staff, Oniovosa Stella. Best Visiting teacher, Emmanuel Timothy. Most Oustanding Class assistant, Ogbamodu Joy. Best driver, Oyeleye Gbenga, and Environmental Officer of the year, Balogun Ibironke.
In Akowonjo, the following staffers bagged awards. They include; Outstanding staff of the year – Folorunso Ayodele Samuel, Most punctual – OGORI Ezinne. Best dressed – Emmanuel Ufuoma Peace. Outstanding non-teaching staff- Haastrup Ngozi. Most diligent class assistance – Nnanji Faith. Best driver of the year – Samuel Abidemi. Best visiting teacher – Zubair Bilikisu. Best sanitation officer – Idakoji Beauty.
A total of 26 pupils graduated in the Agbado branch while about 50 people graduated in the Akowonjo branch. It was a moment of hearty thanksgiving, the proprietress who expressed gratitude to God for making this year’s anniversary and graduation ceremony hold after a very difficult year filled with COVID-19 pandemic experience.
