My Greatest Gift Of Life At 55

– Us-Based Pastor, Henry Oladipupo Revieled How God Called Him Into His Service

Pastor Oluwaseun Henry Oladipupo is a man of God. He is the senior pastor of  the Redeemer Lives International Ministry, a church located in Orlando, Florida. He is truly a minister of God as many testimonies prove this. His preachings and sermons are always on point. No wonder, his Ministry has continued to positively impact this generation.

Few days ago, Pastor Oladipupo clocked 55 years and he was indeed thankful to God for the gift of life. In an interview with the Assistant Editor and Head of Citypeople TV, Sunday Adigun, the man of God spoke extensively about his very beginning, how Christ found him and became a minister of God. He also spoke about his marital life and how his darling wife, Mrs. Olufunke has been a blessing to him and his ministry. Read and enjoy excerpts from the interview.

My name is pastor Oluwaseun Henry Oladipupo. I am originally from Ilesa in Osun state, Nigeria. My parents are from Ilesa and I had my early education; both primary and secondary in Ilesa before I moved out to settle in Lagos state where I later had my tertiary education. And from there I started my life.

How do you feel about life at 55?

I give God all the Glory. At 55 years, there is a remarkable instance that happened in the journey of life, which is the salvation of my soul. It is the greatest achievement I think the Lord has given to me in life. Precisely in December 1989, I met the Lord and since then he has been my Lord, he has been the one guiding and piloting my life and destiny. As a matter of fact, he took total control of everything. I think what I can summarise is that, life has really taught me to always and constantly depend on God, trust in him, focus on him, walk with him and allow him to channel my life because he is the creator of life. To add a little, and in his mercy, he gave me the privilege to be a worker in his vineyard as a pastor, to lead and to feed his sheep.

What has life taught you in the last 55 years of your life?

Praise the Lord! As a matter of fact, I think my own case is a full home video. Especially in that December 1989, I remember that hot afternoon, I travelled home back to Ilesa with my cousin and my childhood friend to celebrate Christmas with my family. On that afternoon we were getting ready to go to a party, as we used to do those days, you know, the  disco boys stuff, and just a few minutes before we left the house, my friend’s cousin, I won’t mention her name now. Thank God she is a pastor in RCCG today. She rushed in and asked where are you guys going, We said oh we are going for a party, and she said let’s quickly get to my church. There is a program going on in my church. When you guys are done, from there you can go to your party and lo and behold, I was even the one that encouraged my friends about going to the church on that day.To the glory of God, I didn’t come back the same. I encountered Jesus,  though we still went to the party that day, but since that day, it has not been the same again. And to the Glory of God in my life, I was privileged to be part of some early IT guys in the late 80s and 90s. IT actually paid off for me because I was able to establish my own IT business, got married, and raised my kids before the Lord called me into ministry work in 2011. Before God called me fully into ministry, I was ordained as a Deacon in TREM by Bishop Mike Okonkwo and later moved to another ministry where I was ordained as a Pastor. Actually,  the last thing I thought I want to become in life is to be a pastor, but you see, it’s a lie of the devil because there is no better life than being God’s servant. I can tell you that He is a faithful God and it’s a privilege when you are called to serve in his vineyard. So, I give God all the Glory for that, and thank God for not giving up on me for the little delay before I finally yielded his call, and I thank him for still holding me on.

How easy or difficult was it for you to drop your professional career for God’s work?

At what point did you relocate?

Do you have your own ministry over there?

Precisely 2017, I decided to move over here. My wife and I agreed because at that time we already had two of our kids studying here and we concluded that it would be better for us to be around them so that we can  give them the support that they need as parents, though we have some other pressing reasons that made us concluded on the decision. As a matter of fact, my wife was a senior banking officer as at that time, she had to let go her career. So, we had to put every other thing aside and move over here to at least be of support to our kids and we thank God for his mercy today.

For the ministry, it’s all  by the Grace of God. The Lord helped us and still helping, I think for about three years now we have had a registered ministry running here in the state of Florida, Orlando to be precise. The name of the ministry is Redeemer Lives International Ministry. We’ve been on for about 3 years now and it has been all to the glory of God.

You said you received the call of God earlier in 1989, how did it happen? What was the conviction sir? Where were you and what were you doing before you received the call of God?

Well it wasn’t that easy really. Even in what we were doing as a career, it was all by the help of God. All the success in my career has always been by the help of God. He gave me the level of comfort and achievement that I needed even in that career and one beautiful thing the Lord did for me, preparing me ahead of time was, giving me a wife and a partner that believes in Godly vision. So, it was not too difficult sitting down to agree with my wife at a point in the journey, to say oh now let’s follow God all the way. That is, God first and then career and some other things can follow, glory be to God everything worked out good.

Let’s talk about your marriage life; How did you meet your wife? How did you get to woo her into becoming your better half which we are seeing here today?

I thank God for his mercies because it’s been a wonderful work of God. In 1994 to be precise, God moved me and my friends from Ikeja, Opebi environ to the other side of Lagos, around Iyana Ipaja or so or Ipaja. And to the glory of God around that time one of my colleagues at work, may God continue to bless him. God actually used him to be the bridge to connect me to my wife.  He just graduated from UI and he invited me and my friends to the graduation party and for the first time under heaven I met my wife there who happened to be an undergraduate in UI at that time, I think she was in her 400 level for a five year course, so we met for the first time at that party and I remember vividly that night I told my friend  that lady is my wife. But I really can’t justify it because my friend said don’t allow all these small, small girls in this area embarrass you and stuff like that. But I just said that lady is my wife. When I got to the office the following day, I didn’t tell my friend anything. He just came to me, and started saying some beautiful things about the lady I just met and was still thinking about. I asked if he knew her? He said she is my friend, she is a good girl, she lives so so … So from that moment henceforth the whole journey started. He connected us, took me to her house, stuff like that and the whole journey started. To the glory of God, I  found favour before her, and we started that journey in 1994 and to God’s Glory in 1996, we got married. Since then, it has been God. God was the foundation of the home. He has helped us to overcome so many challenges as husband and wife. God has been so favourable to us in everything that we desire in life. So, I give God the glory and thank Him for the kind of wife and partner he gave me.
