During the official signing on and unveiling of its new artiste, Flahen Mega Records, the CEO, Mr. Henry Ebong, spoke with City People’s Reporter about his company and his new artiste, Kimoni. Below are excerpts.
Can you please introduce yourself?
My name is Henry Ebong.
How many artistes have you promoted?
We have tried to work with some artistes in the past, but we have gone far with one of them.
Where is your office located?
Flahen Mega Records, headquarters is based in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. But, we are working on having branches in Lagos and Port Harcout as time unfolds.
Which of your artistes is the hottest right now?
You know it’s not good for a parent to show love to one child among the children, but our baby of the moment is Kimoni.
Why did you choose entertainment/showbiz as your line of business?
I ventured into showbiz and entartainment because of my background. I am involved in ministration and song ministration is an important aspect of worship. This really what my appetite for good music and entertainment.
Were you involved in church ministration?
Yes, I have been involved unit both at church level and on the secular space in the industry.
Why did you choose Kimoni and tell us about Kimoni?
Kimoni is a talented artiste. He has skills and jives that make good music.
He is cool-headed and ready to listen to advice. That is why I chose to work with him.
Tell us the criteria for choosing Kimoni?
The zeal to diversify has been there for long as an entrepreneur. I want to invest in what I enjoy, that was why I went for a record label, so that I can make an impact in the entertainment industry. I started Flahen Mega Records as a child’s play, doing what I believe in. Determination is what has brought us this far. The studio is a world-class standard. It has modern equipment you will find in a standard studio any where in the world.
Tell us about the album launch?
We are working towards launching a record for Kimoni in a couple of months and the video shoots will be done abroad. That will bring the best out of the artiste. This is the foresight of a good record label and a standard creative work that will attract good marketing.
How do you choose your artistes?
We look at talents creativity, good and moral lyrics .
A good material that can be packaged not materials that could be sold.
Any awards?
For now, we are working towards awards and laurels in a short period.
Can you describe your person?
I am an industrious person, goal-getter and a good manager of men and materials.
Who are the people you look up to in the entertainment or showbiz industry?
There are notable names that are established and have become institutions in the society: Tajudeen Adepetu, CEO, Sound City, Ben Murray-Bruce of Silverbird, Wizkid, Tuface, Sinach, and Nathaniel Bassey.
