Two weeks back, City People’s ISAAC ABIMBADE spoke with the Regional Manager of the company and he spoke more about their products.
Tell us about Triton Paint?
It’s a company that has been in existence since 1995. Mostly, we produce for construction companies and we introduced the paint into the construction company. But largely, we deal directly with construction companies. We are not like conventional paint manufacturers that sell in a normal market. So, we handle organizations directly. But this time around, we want to go into the mainstream market.
Are you saying that Capital was the major factor you couldn’t go into mass production?
No. Not because of that. We discovered that a lot of adulterated paints are in the market, so we expect a situation where a client deals with us directly. Yes, we handle houses, we handle individuals houses, but we deal with them directly, unlike conventional ones you have to sell to the market. We want to maintain our quality. We are now introducing another product called lalaplast.
Can you let us know some of your products?
Yes, the paint itself is called TP Triton paints, that is our premium paint and we also have Tri-Standard; the Tri-Standard is the normal conventional market rate. The TP Triton is of high premium; meaning that we have products that sell as much as 60 thousand naira. We have special satin acrylic.
The beauty of our products is that they are anti-fungi. There are times when you build close to water or waterlogged area, you will see some fungi climbing the wall, so because of all these, we treat our paints so that fungi- do not climb the wall. So you are assured after many years fungi won’t climb your wall. Then acrylic is a unique form of paint, the difference between acrylics and emulsion is, it is more durable than emulsion. When an emulsion is spending 2 to 3 years, acrylic can spend up to 7 years and will still be looking unique. You heard my boss talking to some clients the other time. Eko Hotels is our client. Radisson Blue, Access Bank, Land-Mark, they also patronise us. So, these are some of the names that have done business with us.
And about Walplast: Walplast is a new product. Recently, we observed that people tend to use POP, but there are some disadvantages to POP. Pop are prone to crack, they can easily be affected by water, but this particular Walplast is 100% smooth paint face. And another advantage of this Walplast is that it comes in various colours. So, you can use Walplast without necessarily painting your wall and this saves cost. With Walplast, you don’t have to repaint your wall.
What is the difference between Triton and Conventional paints?
I don’t’ know about other paints. The unique thing is that we try to make our paints more durable and it has anti-fungi.
