Oba Sikiru Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebuland is a man of great style, whether it is in his dressing or environment every thing reels of style and class. This is reflected in his new Country Home in Ijebu-Ode.
It is located along Stadium Road, Ijebu-Ode, it is a beautiful nmansion with a tall fence, painted in cream-yellow, with a Luxury Royal Gate. That is the new country home of Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
There is no way you can drive through Stadium road in Ijebu-Ode and you will not admire the new edifice which sits on about 5 plots of land. Though, the tall fence may not permit you the opportunity to see the full house of Awujale County Home, but those who know the taste of the highly respected King will tell you that it is what you will call “Ile Awoyanu Enu”. It is Expansive, Spacious, and located in a serene environment within Ijebu-Ode town.
The mansion is located just few minutes drive to his Palace which is his official residence. Admiring the building from the outside and driving into the compound, you will admire the stone coated metal roofing sheet which is one of the most expensive roofing sheets right now. Of course, you won’t expect anything short of standard from Ijebu’s most respected monarch.
Driving inside the compound, you will admire the expansive Compound and Awujale Car Port. And you know that a king of his status drives the best of automobiles. You can’t but admire his Range Rover, Rolls Royce which are neatly parked in the compound.
Taking a walk, you will notice the vegetative floor which allows for pedestrian walking. The neat interlocking and cool environment will make you just want to take a walk in the palatial mansion of Awujale of Ijebuland.
Entering the main building through a tall but imported wooden door, you will be ushered to sit at the mini sitting room which allows you just admire the electronic gadgets while you sit on the sofa.
Of course, that is the farthest you can go. The Awujale mansion is not a place you can just walk in and take a stroll and walk around. It is a revered home for Ijebu’s biggest king. The artwork on the wall, to the Italian Tiles is a pointer to the quality of materials used. Investigations revealed that the building was built to match international stardard with best of materials used.
A sneak peak into the Palatial Buidling, you will begin to admire Olori Kemi’s love for good, quality interior. It is fully furnished to taste. Just a few steps to the door is a lift. It is used by some key Kabiyesi and Olori Kemi’s visitors into the inner chamber.
Don’t forget that Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona (born 10 May 1934) is the Awujale (king) of the Ijebu Kingdom, a traditional state in Nigeria, having reigned since 1960. He is the son of Prince Rufai Adetona and Alhaja Ajibabi Adetona (née Onashile) and represents the Anikinaiya ruling family.
Young Prince Adetona, variously attended Baptist School, Ereko, Ijebu Ode; Ogbere United Primary School, Oke Agbo, Ijebu Igbo; and Ansar-Ud-Deen School, Ijebu Ode between 1943 and 1950. For his secondary education, he was at Olu-Iwa (now Adeola Odutola) College, Ijebu Ode from 1951 to 1956. Between 1957 and 1958 he took up appointment with the then Audit Department of the Western Region, Ibadan. The prince resigned his appointment in 1958 to pursue further studies in accountancy in the United Kingdom, which was the colonial ruler of Nigeria at the time.
