Receives Support From Public/Private Sector
City People has floated a Humanitarian Foundation to help the less privileged. That is what the media house is giving back to society, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The launching of City People Humanitarian Foundation will hold next week. It is part of activities marking its 27th Anniversary. In the next few days, City People Humanitarian Foundation will be giving out palliatives to the Hausa Community, around its corporate office in Gbagada, Lagos. This initiative will be done through its City People Humanitarian Foundation. The Magazine recently set up a new subsidiary called City People Humanitarian Foundation, which is a non-profit and non-political organisation that will support the less privileged, Orphans, Widows across Lagos.
It will also suggest solutions to various challenges facing the people in the community, just as it will work hard to support the aspirations of the less privileged, needy, Youths, Aged, Men & Women in the community. Part of its mission is to build capacities in all sectors within the community, and hold empowerment activities for the community. Part of its mission is to embrace partnerships; to cater for the Treatment and Prevention of drug abuse, addictions and public health matters; to promote talents, develop ideas and identity research areas, to organise Training for the community especially for the youths; to raise funds for Charity and contribute to charity for the communities; to develop human capacity in the community for favourable disposition for the Youths, Adult, Aged, Male and Female and Society at large. The foundation was registered last May and it has since then begun reaching out to the community to see how it can impact positively on society.
The Management of the Foundation recently visited Gbagada General Hospital to explore how City People can be relevant to the hospital. A few weeks back, the Management also visited Anthony Police Station to meet with CSP Rita Adigha, the DPO of the Anthony Division to get a feel of what the station needs.
Throughout the month of November and December, the Management of City People had embarked on several visitation to Hospitals, Mosque, Church, Markets, and Communities to see how the magazine can touch more lives.
In the next few days, City People Humanitarian Foundation plans to give out palliatives to the Hausa Community in the Gbagada area of Lagos.
On November 1st, 2023, the team from CityPeople Magazine, led by its Publisher, Dr. Seye Kehinde, visited Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Rita Adigha, who serves as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at the Anthony Police Division. The visit was in honours of the 27th anniversary of City People Magazine and aimed at acknowledging the outstanding service of the police division and offer support in its own little way.
City People Magazine is well known for its dedication to community engagement, and during the visit, the team inquired about any potential needs of her police division. CSP Rita warmly welcomed the magazine’s team and appreciated their offer, assuring them that she would consider it further and respond accordingly.
During the conversation, CSP Rita Adigha shed light on some of the challenges Anthony Police Division is facing, including how to continue to reduce criminal activity in the area. She also spoke about the escalating cost of fuel, which is affecting operations and resulting in a reduction in daytime patrols to conserve fuel for night-time operations.
CSP Rita Adigha pledged to continue to support her immediate community and ensure the safety and security of all residents within her jurisdiction. This visit served as a poignant demonstration of the strong partnership between the Police force and organizations like City People Magazine, coming together to address the community’s needs and promote public safety. It is also the beginning of the role City People Humanitarian Foundation will be playing in months to come to touch more lives.
